Our client is a main contractor who turnover circa £130 million, delivering projects within the commercial office, healthcare, education and leisure sectors. They have the experience and capability of successfully delivering projects ranging from £50,000 to £20m in value, comprising primarily of Cat A and Cat B fit out and refurbishment schemes. The majority of the projects are undertaken in the Central London and South East Area. Our client have a reputation for delivering high quality contracts in both traditional and specification Design and Build projects for the likes of Aviva, Blackstone, Kirkland & Ellis, a number of WWP group companies and Land Securities. They are currently in the process of successfully adding a multitude of exciting projects to their pre-existing and established pipeline of work, and owing to their structured growth plans they are looking to expand their commercial team and are currently looking to fill the following vacancies:

THE ROLE

They are looking for a Senior / Intermediate Estimator to join their team. You will be working on projects out of the head office in South London. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and motivated individual who will work within a team of 5 other estimators. The successful candidate will need to have experience in Design & Build or Traditional contracts. A good knowledge of Commercial projects and or Healthcare (Acute) will be of benefit as the bulk of their work is in this sector. Experience pricing central London will also be of benefit and the unique requirements and therefore costs involved in packages like logistics and temporary works as 90% of their work is on highly technical projects in the capital

Key Responsibilities:

• Analysis of tender docs including looking at areas to add value (i.e. value engineering opportunities)

• Arranging and co-ordinating site visits throughout the tender period

• Breaking down of scope, schedule and programme and building up cost plan or estimate identifying areas of risk with commercial team and possible areas for gain

• Preparation of Tenders for sub contract packages

• Selection of sub-contractors and suppliers

• Coordinating the documents and ensuring returns are back in time

• Critically assessing the submissions ensuring the full scope is covered and negotiating better deals / rates

• Bid Management responsibilities: Technical input at interview stage
