THE COMPANY

Our client is looking to becoming one of London’s fastest growing and talked about construction companies. As a business they specialise in New Build Residential projects and are currently working on schemes ranging from 50 – 500 Units. Fundamentally, they are backed and supported by a parent company who are a major Housing Developer and have been established for over 40 Years.

Over the next 10 years they are looking to progress and expand their business through delivering a mixture of Traditional and Design & Build Schemes for Major residential projects in London. What this means is that they are looking for people that want to develop their career and work for a company that will become a leading New Build Residential Contractor.

They currently work throughout London and specialise in New Build RC Frame Flats with Basement Car Parks, traditional Houses and Timber Frame Houses.

Project Examples:

· Construction of 300 Units with Blocks in excess of 10 Storeys in height and basement car park.

· This project consists of the design and construction of 80 plus residential units distributed over 2 buildings and 8 storeys surrounded by landscape areas.

· Located in East London, over 80 residential units with Blocks ranging up to 6 Storey

· Construction of approximately 400 units with Blocks in excess of 10 Storeys in height and basement car park.

Additionally, the business has won several awards including a top 100 companies award from a well-known and popular poll.

THE PROJECT

We are currently in the process of looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager that will be working on a major scheme in London. The overall scheme is over 10 years in length and will be split into various phases. This is one of the most exciting projects in London and will deliver over 8000 new homes and will have tower blocks going up to 18 Storeys in height. We are looking for a candidate that will be involved in a particular phase of the scheme:

• New build of over 230 new build units, both flats and townhouses – Mixed RC and Traditional Build elements.

Senior Project Manager

The responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Pre-construction:

 Tender preparation and presentation (Lead)

 Procurement of materials and labour

 Creation of full phase construction programs

 Leading overall design development with assistance from a full design team

 Sequencing and detailing the build methodology

 Operational, commercial and contractual leadership of the project

 Building, empowering and managing the delivery and commercial teams

 Progress reporting to necessary parties to ensure project delivery to the highest possible standards.  

 Resolve technical problems ensuring work is carried out to the correct specification and QA standards

 Be responsible for instructing and co-ordinating Designers, Technical Consultants and Sub-contractors during the contract period.

 Developed the Project Programme, short term programmes, as built programmes and monitor / report progress as required.

 Comply with company procedures exercising financial control throughout the project.

 Be the Team Leader on the project and develop a successful team ethic on site.

Candidate’s Basic Requirements:

 Basement Experience

 RC Frame Experience

 A complete understanding of the construction process and a minimum of 10 years’ experience within the construction industry and preferably Residential

 A professional Qualification, e.g. Degree in Construction Management/ Engineer/Civil Engineer or HMD, or come from a trade background.

 CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid Certification

 Previous relevant experience of both Private and Social housing schemes is preferable
