THE COMPANY:

Our client is a major residential contractor that currently has a turnover of £290m and over 30 years of expertise in the market. They specialise in new build and refurbishment schemes working within the Residential, Regeneration, Commercial, Education and Healthcare sectors. Clients include local authorities, housing associations & the local communities. 

They pride themselves on delivering ‘quality’ and having a ‘personable’ approach to both clients and their staff.  They currently employ over 750 members of staff and are focussed on providing them with the right support to help develop their careers while offering an honest and personable environment. This ethos has supported the growth of the business over the last 30 years.

They are looking to increase their turnover to £560m by 2020 and have already secured work for 2017 (100%), 2018 (70%), 2019 & 2020.

THE ROLES/PROJECTS:

BLOCK MANAGER – LONDON – NEW BUILD RESIDENTIAL - £45,000 - £50,000 + PACKAGE

We are looking for a Block Manager who will manage a 20 unit block on a new build residential project in South East London. This person will report into a Project manager. And will take overall responsibility for the delivery of their units taking them from 1st fix through to completion.

Duties:

• Managing and Co-coordinating the Programed works

• Managing Subcontractors

• Carrying out quality assurance

• Manage logistics

• Ensuring the site is maintained in a clean and safe manner

• Implementing Health and Safety

• Short term programming

• Liaising with clients

Candidates must have experience of:

• Have an understanding of the construction process

• Competency in Scaffold Awareness, Traffic Management, Lifting Ops are desirable

• Hold valid and up to date SMST, First Aid, CSCS (Ideally a Black CSCS Card!)

• Good verbal, communication, and written skills

• Good IT skills to aid achievement of work objectives

• A motivator of others someone keen to progress their management skills
