Established approximately twenty years ago, our client has a still-increasing turnover measuring in the tens of millions. They operate out of several locations, working on very high quality developments and regenerations. Originally established as a consultancy firm, the company decided that it was fully capable of doing the contracting in-house and the results have proven them right. With strong professional attitudes and a slick management style, the senior staff members present stellar examples of how effective a strong management team can be. The projects themselves vary in size, typically ranging up to 10million, and have proven to be very profitable with their strong portfolio really showcasing the quality of their workmanship.

Project Surveyor – £45,000 - £60,000 + Benefits

Skills and experience required:-

· 5 + years’ experience with New Build Civil/Construction Company

· Degree in Quantity Surveying

· Good knowledge of forms of contract particularly JCT D&B

· Experience in commercial management of sub contractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates, accrual calculations and value allocation

· Able to manage and effectively monitor sub contractors

· Have excellent communication – both oral and written, numeric and computer skills

· Good problem solving skills

· Ability to work as part of a team and able to work to own initiative

· Ability to build strong relationships with all management levels

· Strong management style

· Highly ambitious and compelled

· Able to quickly build strong working relationships with people at all levels

Main responsibilities:-

· Contribute to achieving the appropriate commercial result through the provision of accurate financial reporting

· Manage subcontractor supplier accounts, financially and contractually, in order to secure full entitlements under the contract

· Understand fully the customer’s needs and ensure effective relationships are built and maintained by consistently high customer service and on site delivery

· Provide support to the site team on contract requirements

· Review, analysis and produce package enquiries. Place subcontract orders in accordance with the main contract and manage subcontractor accounts ensuring payments are timely and correct and any other commercial issues are resolved

· Monitor subcontractor against programme

· Ensure applications for payment and invoices are completed and submitted to ensure payment is made to terms and within work in progress (WIP) and cash targets

· Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements

· Monitor internal expenditure against budget

· Maximise efficiency of reporting techniques/systems

· Explore opportunities to maximise value and minimise costs

· Operate the systems that are in place to provide the information necessary to manage the contract

· Administer and analyse all procedures and systems and ensure efficient operation

· Develop, encourage and improve work within the team

· Support other team members with regards to commercial and contractual awareness

· Liaise with the client on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments

· Closure with regards to the financial side of the project ensuring all costs and value are designated in desig
