Our client was established in 2004 and is a financially sound, privately owned business. They have a large, directly employed workforce which is managed through their head office in Hertfordshire.  The typical size of contract ranges from £100k to £5m and have a turnover of circa £10m. They have built a solid reputation by consistently delivering quality end products safely, on time and within budget.  They have formed excellent working relationships that keep our customers coming back time after time, and as such they are a secure and profitable company. Their work includes the New Build and Refurbishment of Education, Healthcare and Public Sector Projects in the South-East, typically across London, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

At the moment, they are seeking a strong Assistant/Intermediate Quantity Surveyor with a few years of experience under their belt to join their ranks in a role which will be primarily based out of their offices.

Suitable candidates will be competent in commercial matters typically dealt with by Surveyors, and will possess a capacity to learn. The ideal candidate is expected to be:

·         Effective at communicating with various parties

·         Organised and efficient

·         Able to manage tasks

·         Maintaining an awareness of the industry

·         Liaising and working closely with commercial manager

The company takes the development of its staff to heart, and you will be working closely with and learning from the commercial team. Examples of potential responsibilities include:

·         Procurement of sub-contractors

·         Interim valuations on a monthly basis

·         Cost management document

·         Claiming/Valuing variations

·         Instruction of variations to sub-contractors

·         Deliver payment notices to the subcontractors and raise certificates for payment
