Assistant MEP Manager

Job Description:

Our client, a well-established Developer and Main Contractor that operates across London and the South, is currently looking to recruit an M&E Manager to work on a very prestigious project in South London. With current group revenue standing at £1.3bn and a pre-tax profit for 2013 of over £270m, they are continuing to go from strength to strength. Specialising in residential-led mixed-use developments with values ranging from £50m to £300m+, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of specialist M&E sub-contractors predominantly overseeing both the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems.


The main duties / responsibilities of the Assistant MEP Manager will include:

•  Reporting directly to the MEP MANAGER

•  Understand and coordinate technical specifications, drawings, programmes and produce reports

•  An understanding of Health & Safety rules and regulations, including company policies

•  Coordinating the internal workings of the Mechanical and Electrical elements of the project

•  Responsible for managing the onsite M&E sub-contractors and consultants

•  Communicate and cooperate effectively with sub-contractors, consultants and other team members to work as cohesive team and to ensure the smooth and timely completion of the project

•  Responsible for carrying out daily site inspections to assess actual progress first-hand

•  Witnessing and signing off the commissioning of mechanical systems as per the specifications and recording results according to the company’s processes and procedures


The successful candidate will ideally have the following:

•  A solid background in Building Services (Electrical) either through qualifications (degree / HND / HNC) or off the tools.

•  A minimum of 3 years’ post-education experience, preferably including experience working on a major London residential development for either a Main or M&E Contractor

•  A good understanding of Building Services, in particular Electrical systems and the commissioning of these systems

•  Good Management skills

•  Team Player

•  Analytical and drive for improvement and innovation

•  Business & Customer Awareness

•  Excellent communication skills both oral and written

•  Good presentation skills
