Document Controller - Fit-Out Contractor

City of London

Temp - £12 – 16 per hour

Document Controller required for established building contractor working in Central London

Due to an increase in workload and internal holidays my client is currently seeking a Document Controller to come on board to assist the project team.

Working as part of a support team you will be the site based document controller assisting the information management team, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.

You will be the sole Document Controller on site, managing all site administration.

Purpose of your role

To implement and manage the document control software and provide project administration. You're required to work with all departments in order to implement systems of control and ensure all staff is compliant with procedures and best practice.

Key Responsibilities 

• Manage and control the drawings, specifications and design information between the project team and external parties, ensuring that the latest revisions are administered and distributed promptly

• Coordinate all activities related to the document control procedure, including technical documents, drawings, health and safety forms and commercial correspondence.

• Filing all hard copy documents in appropriate folders and keeping up to date drawing and document registers

• Carry out routine document management administrative tasks including document release and publishing, technical query handling, transmittals, filing, copying and local library management

• Collation of tender submission documentation, and contract documentation

• Contacting suppliers, chasing orders, processing paperwork.

• General filing and office duties.

• Providing administration support, ensuring all new starters have security clearance.

• Collation, management and distribution of reports, documents and contracts

• Coordination of O&M Manual production on each project

• Administration support to the project team

Requirements 

• Previous construction/site experience would be advantageous

• Have experience of document control procedures and ideally experience with software packages – Uni-sqaure and Glass cube

• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically Word and Excel.

• Accurate and good attention to detail.

• Ability to work alone and high work ethic.
